LL 4.4 update issues
#1
I am a total novice.  I installed LL on a friend's laptop and she is a TOTAL newb.  When she tries to update she gets these error codes.

Any suggestions for her?  Thanks.

Uncheck the ppa for gimp then sudo apt-get update. Here is step by step. Go to the menu and find software and updates and click that then go to other software then uncheck that ppa, then it should reload the lists, it is a good idea to run sudo apt-get updates to make sure it was fixed. The fix is to edit it and add stable after it as the error showed you but unchecking the ppa will get you back up and running until you can fix the issue which should have a thread on the forums.

Firenice03 - Thanks - she tried what was posted at link:  Entered this code into terminal

Code:
sudo apt-get --allow-releaseinfo-change update

Then it requested password.  When she tried to type password, nothing appeared.  She can type elsewhere but not into terminal.  She can't even type her password elsewhere and paste it into terminal.
