How do I delete/replace the 'tags' on one of my forum threads?

I would like to replace the tags on one of my forum threads, so that I can more accurately reflect the content.
After clicking Modify to get into edit mode, overwriting existing tags doesn't seem to work. Also, I tried clicking on the crosses of the tags at the bottom of the thread to delete them, but that doesn't seem to work either.

You shouldn't need to 'modify' post to deal with tags, just click the red cross. If that doesn't work, just pm a Mod and see if they can do it for you.
