I know those, had looked into them and a friend used them before. He advised me to either go for a usb adapter or cable.

Great, only problem is that non of the listed items ship to The Netherlands. Guess that my country is too small to be found Wink

I think you are in better luck compared to Greece, which we cant buy anything of Amazon because: 1. Cannot ship 2. Shipment is really really expensive.

Cable I use 1 noodle cable it is flat and it turns corners easily, I have only used up to 10 metres long, I am unsure if it is available longer.

I have (and use) usb adapter only 2.4Ghz, these ones I used and they work well -
Unbranded from China 0.99 for 1, or 1.15 for 2 micro dongles, free postage.
Also these ones - (I dont know the prices they sent it me etc)
Qualcom Atheros AR9271
Alfa AWUS036h
Alfa AWUS036NHA
Also I have a many different antenna I can add to these.

I like the remote magnetic mount, it has usb cable that plugs into usb port, it sits at the desk then you plug the wifi adapter into it vertically, it saves stress on the usb port, also then you can use dongle with any antennas to improve it a lot, such as bigger omni or panel. Dont need pigtails near the computer.

Thanks, will have a look into that cable and the adapters you mentioned. My internal wireless ard works fine, its only that i get only 75Mbit out of the 150Mbit connection i have. When i use my Nexus 6 and log into the 5Ghz wifi i get 145Mbit, if i use usb tethering with the phone i get around 90Mbit on laptop.

I see how you mean.
It sounds very frustrating, it works 50% , like mono on a stereo, it sounds like it maybe can be caused by the hardware driver, or configuration issues with that driver ?

Have you tried this, solution for speed issues on this card ?

Code:
echo "blacklist acer-wmi" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-acer-wmi.conf

I have checked noodle cable lengths for you, yes it can be longer this one is same as mine and colour, but mine is 10 metres this one it is 30 metres long Smile , you can get the length you need in this type and around 90 degree corners. Many different sellers it was just first result in Google.
You will get it for much better price by choosing "sort by - lowest price plus postage" in ebay.

Tried the solution in the link you gave but speed is still around 75Mbit. Problem i think is not the card but the 2.4Ghz band, it doesnt seem to go faster. The card doesnt support dual band. My Nexus 6 supports the 5Ghz band and gets to 145Mbit without any problems. So its either a 5Ghz usb adapter or get a cable. Will check out the online price for a flat cable here in The Netherlands.
