Video playing issues since 3.4 update
#1
Yesterday I upgraded to 3.4 linux lite from 3.2. Videos were all playing normally in Opera but today some do not work. Utube video's work fine. Video's still play ok in firefox. I The headspace video at www.headspace.com won't play and also a next door video, https://player.vimeo.com/video/182499021...autoplay=1

Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

I just started testing 3.4 to get an older laptop a new lease on life, and noticed that I could not get Flash to work at all in Opera. I don't know if this is is affecting you as well? I find Opera extremely uncooperative with video, but have had a harder time with 3.4.

Noticed that Adobe Flash Player is removed in version 3.4 (correct me if I am wrong). Just download it manually through synaptic.

Hello nikki1066,

have you installed the Restricted Extras in Lite Software ? (it is advised to install them)
YouTube is using the html5 player.
Vimeo uses flash player for about 35% (they say) of the video, and html5 for the others, Vimeo state you will need also the flash player for the videos they host etc.

Are you using the same drivers as shown in 3.4 when you used 3.2 ?

Do you not use Intel Graphics Stack ?
eg; you have Xorg 1.18.4  this Q4 uses 1.19
eg you have Mesa 12.0.6 this Q4 uses Mesa 13.01

Q4 is not the latest stack, but it is the latest stack compatible and working in LL, I use the Q4 too.

It was not removed. It was replaced because the outdated version was vulnerable. Smile  Irrespective, I can play the videos the user posted with Firefox and other browsers; I have flash disabled in Firefox and I also have Restricted Extras installed.

It might be related to the hardware/kernel or software other than flash maybe?

I'd try to play the video installing Restricted Extras and disabling flash in the browser to see if there is a difference.

Sorry for seeming stupid and preferring Linux - I just don't know any better.
