That article is 4 years old, but the information is still sound. No one wants to be the one to TELL you what to do on this. Here is information already available in the Help Manual as a guide:
https://www.freecinema2022.gq/manual/tutor...#antivirus Coming from the wild, wild, world of Windows, I had antivirus as a concern. Since there isn't much anti-virus money to be made yet on Linux desktop users, the easy to use, secure, supported (ie. updated) anti-virus options aren't plentiful. I eventually settled on the fact that as long as my kernel and programs were updated and I installed as much as possible from official, vetted, repositories, I was going to be okay. So I personally don't run an anti-virus program in Linux. Operative word here is "personally." I tried clamav and clamtk, and they were as much fun as using WINE...to me. Which is to say, they weren't. I follow Spatry and Joe Collins and other YouTubers, and I feel like I'm in good company on this decision. It isn't a permanent one, but it is my current one. And if I'm properly reading between the lines of your posts, you just want what I wanted...which was to hear someone doing this Linux thing longer than me say what choice they made and why. Well now you have your testimonial. Stay updated, my friends.

after downloading latest virus definitions and database updates, it gives me error
ERROR: NotifyClamd: Can't find or parse configuration file /etc/clamav/clamd.conf Code: locate clamd.conf should show if you have one or not. Forgot to mention since you just installed it. Code: sudo updatedb first because the data base needs to load up the latest installs.
