LOL, I am so glad I got into Linux 8 years ago !
I only use MS for gaming, and it seems Linux is catching up !
Too bad I need MS for work. It is causing major issues on proprietary platforms i work on.

I read the story on the BBC yesterday.

This follows many outbursts on some of the photographic websites I visit, where many members (who are often in their eighties) wake up in the morning with win 10 on there computer. Because they do not understand computers, they do not know they can roll back to their previous version.
In one case a "geek????" offered an eighty seven year old to roll back for a fee of around 180 us dollars, instead of geek read "con man".

I would guess the majority of windows users have no interest in learning whats under the bonnet and that plays right into Microsoft's hands.
i could go on for hours  Big Grin but I think I might be preaching to the converted ;D

As an aside, I have shown my system running LL to a few people and all have been impressed but only a couple have taken the plunge.

Keith.

ps. Looking forward to 3.

Elderly people with aging windows computers are constantly victimized by MS and self labeled MS technicians, even MS certified people that I know of. When this windows10 mess hit it affected many of my small business customers terribly. I got to work, and devised a program to remove most of the persistent update functions. Messed around with it for nearly a week, and then found a free program on line that did most of things I was trying to accomplish. I tweaked that and a few other little things. All of my customers kept their windows7 boxes after that, with no real problems. It is difficult to convert elderly people from their windows boxes, but I have done so a few times lately with demonstrations of Linux lite. I work for free for people over 65 on fixed incomes, and provide free tutorials at the library for the elderly. Hell I'm 67 myself. Windows is dying a slow agonizing expensive death for its users. Between ransom ware and the windows10 debacle the future is not bright for any new institutional usage.
All opinions expressed and all advice given by Trinidad Cruz on this forum are his responsibility alone and do not necessarily reflect the views or methods of the developers of Linux Lite. He is a citizen of the United States where it is acceptable to occasionally be uninformed and inept as long as you pay your taxes.

I don't know if you heard about the plans for Windows 10 Anniversary update? (end of July). On Start menu/pinned apps, they're going to reduce the number to 12, then increase the one's that are advertising (for other apps) to 10. Right now 'Candy Crush Saga' is one of 5. Look out Doctor! It's a Cyberman! Quite alright Jamie,  he's here to Delete, delete, delete!

If you don't want to click on the link just do a web search for "windows 10 anniversary extra advertising apps". Here's another good read:
