If I may, I haven't been here long... I've been a Windows guy forever and still am for that.. Not much of fan of Win8 or 10 but neither was I of Vista or Millennium...
Granted I haven't used Linux as much but I have installed (played with) Mandriva, Mint and Linux Lite.. What I like about LL, is that once installed - its ready and feels familiar; besides that it runs perfectly with minimal hardware.
I can run updates and make a back up (using systemback) I tried the other tool (typing "backup" in the menu) I wasn't much of a fan - similarly in Windows I would have used System Restore.
The PDF viewer, Java and Flash all seem to work well out of the box as does Libre Office; in Windows I'd have to download/install each of these additionally or add viewers (and update again).
For the minimalist PC home user even a small office user the options as is are spot on.
Are there better variations of software? Sure OpenJDK or Ice Tea are both good java viewers but maybe that specific app just works better with Oracle Java... Just as System Restore is good to a point but others may prefer something else...
I think its a great distro, it has this Windows guy running and in use day to day. Keep up the good work!!!
On another thought; keeping to just the add-on apps (not stripping away pieces) I saw Systemback has the option to create a livecd - I'm assuming it would use the installed system as the build = essentially a custom image?
Example: I install Chrome and create a liveusb, use that to usb to install LL on another PC, Chrome would be added during setup??
