Internal Server Error on some posts
#1
It's been brought to my attention that some people are posting lengthy posts, only to find out when they post it returns a 'Internal Server Error'. I know this can be incredibly frustrating and I am determined to rid the problem from the server, but I need your help.

The next time this happens to any of you, I need to know within 24 hours of it. The server logs are rotated every 48 hours so we need to catch this bug in action while it's still fresh in the system. Reply to this thread WITH a screenshot of the Internal Server Error and the time & date that it happened. Thank you.

To avoid lost work I find it helpful to write the post in Leafpad first (text editor @ menu > all > text editor) then do a copy and paste to the forum. If the server does error it's easy to take a screenshot and try again.  Smile

Yes, that's happened to me many, many times.  Will post back next time I run into it w/ screenshot.

Same as Scott(0), when I remember to do it, I get around problem by copying my reply to leafpad first, then hit either "Preview" or "Post" button.  If server messes up, I still have the post in leafpad and can try again.  (Unfortunately, I don't always remember to do that.  Sad)

What I do sometimes is copy the text so that it is in the buffer.  if it is my own question, I use a text editor since I am always changing the question as I investigate.

UPDATE: I have been working closely with our host today and we may have nipped this in the bud. I was trying to post and repeatedly got the 500 error...grrr! He applied some new settings and viola, I could post.
I am hoping this is fixed once and for all. Please let me know if we are back to the drawing board or if this is gone for good Smile
