Can't login after update
#1
I've just updated the OS and now I can't login. Tried repeating the password up to 6 times without getting in.

This is an osboxes.org installation. Have used it for year and never had this issue.

Could this be the Ubuntu login loop? Xauthority and /tmp are correctly owned.

Any help appreciated.

Have you checked the keyboard numbers lock setting?

Yes, and Linux Lite conveniently shows a warning icon to the right of the password field when caps lock is engaged.

mmcglynn, I saw the same misbehavior today after installing the update.

Thanks to your comment re:  "Ubuntu login loop", I was able to find an answer.

The relevant articles I found:

and

https://askubuntu.com/questions/1231410/...untu-20-04.

In my case, my hard drive was full; a user comment in the 2nd article above re: using "sudo apt autoremove" did the trick for me.

I hope this helps you!
