X11VNC refuses connection after LL update
#1
Hi,

I installed the latest LL 3.4 updates and since have not been able to connect to my X11VNC server. It was working just fine before the update.
Being a Linux newbie, other than restarting the service, rebooting and making sure that all settings that were put in place when I installed X11vnc are still there, I have no idea how to troubleshoot this problem. I was able to connect from a RealVNC and Screen Share (Mac) clients but now I get "the connection was refused by the computer" error.
Firewall is disabled in both server and clients.

Any clues to solve this problem are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Oscar

Hi there,

If you followed the documentation to configure VNC, make sure to go over it again and recreate your files. I had this issue once after updating systemd.

Sorry for seeming stupid and preferring Linux - I just don't know any better.

Hi Ralph,

Thanks for the response. I followed the tutorial at this link for installation:
https://www.freecinema2022.gq/forums/tutor...-lite-3-x/

I checked that all installed files are there but I think I should reinstall the package.
Any quick way to uninstall the server from CLI? Do I need to go and manually delete the old directory and files?

Thanks again

I've managed to uninstall the X11vnc server, deleted the password and service files and reinstalled the app and all is working fine again.

Thanks for the useful response.
