I Need Help
#1
I am a complete newb... I did a clean install of Linux Lite 3.2. because I was having resource issues with Ubuntu 16.04.1 Everything seems to work fine... Firefox, YouTube, etc... I do have one serious issue though. When I open the main menu, theres just icons, no descriptions. I wanted to install the restricted extras. I know the package managers icon so I clicked it. It opened the dialog box asking for my password but the text displayed was missing and garbled. I put my password in anyway and the package manager opened but again... no text just check boxes. I don't know what to do now.

Hello kronik1961,

I found this info a 16.04 known intermittent bug.
One fix says to -
Log out, then log in again, (not rebooting), to fix it for that session.

It says the next time you reboot the bug will return, and you will need to log out log in again.

Can you try this and report back if it works.

Did you choose any other language options during the original installation of Linux Lite? What are your system specs?
