I'v been a numpty built new computer didn't write down new password.

Looked online with my phone found steps to reset.

I'm using a USB keyboard would that make a difference as I'm holding down shift but computer load right into logon page!

Resetting your Password

Forgot your password? It happens to all of us at some stage. Fortunately setting it again is fairly straight forward. Lets begin.

From manual.
Boot up your computer and immediately press and hold down the Shift key. You should see a screen like this.


I have live LL still on stick. Going look see if can change from that. But don't think so.

Looking at LL user manager select Root.
Don't know if it needs original password.
This didn't work from live session.

There is a section in the help manual for resetting password.  It can be found at the following link.

Yep that what I found.
I can't get the GRUB screen

As said wounder as using USB keyboard pressing shift on boot.

Got GRUB screen.

Now that's a tip never throw any old keyboards away.
