Massive system installation (LL 2.4)
#1
Hello Everybody. I need help, I'm working with 30 old computers (differents models) and I want to make a massive system installation (LL 2.4), Does anyone knows how can be done? I tried two ways 1) HDD Cloning and 2) PXE, but I can't implement none.

For the first point I dealt with Clonezilla SE but computers did not read cd or usb.
For the second I can't configure DHCP, What tool can be use and how to set ? I tried with isc-dhcp-server, but I can't restart it.

Thanks. Japdum

Not sure what you meant by computers not reading cd or usb.  PXE sounds like the way to go, but if you're having trouble with it, you might find this feed helpful (if the computers have a working optical drive or usb port):  https://www.freecinema2022.gq/forums/insta.../#msg15899

It covers the use of Systemback.  You can create an install, just the way you want it, on one computer, and then run Systemback to create a Live System CD of that install.  From there, you can boot each machine using your homemade LiveCD.  Then run Systemback, install updates, and you're done.  Not as fast as a network install, but if you can create multiple DVDs or USB flash drives from your Live CD, you can move quicker than installing one machine, from scratch, at a time.

I'll try your choice, thanks for the reply.

In case of PXE, it's not working because I don't know how configure it, I installed tool isc-dhcp-server and set it but i can't restart the isc-dhcp-server.
I really want to use my computer as a server and use PXE, for the time that I will spend on it.
