Sound Control
#1
Hi all. Was wondering if there is a way to get finer control of the volume. I think the steps are 5db each if I recall, maybe like 2.5 would be helpful. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks ahead of time.

Hi marnav1,

If you don't mind opening another menu you could open "Sound Settings..." after you've clicked on the loudspeaker in the notification bar. That opens up detailed "Volume Control". On the first tab "Playback" you would adjust the volume.

Hope that helps

Hello!

Here's a reference to using pactl to fine-tune volume as you ask (say, 0.5%), but you'd have to adjust it via the command line:

Hope this helps...

In my case just typing alsamixer in the terminal lets me fine control the volume. I have to leave the terminal open however so to use it I have to adjust it where I want to and then switch back to whatever is on movie etc. Very handy and easy to do, Ty for the tip !
