ways to "harden" linux lite? few thoughts and questions.
#1
moved from xp/microsoft recently and knew a lot about where logs and such files were hidden inside their system and the many tools used to help its security. does not seem to be nearly as much information on securing linux and it seems to be a out of the box system, but are their ways to make it more secure or stop various logging it may contain?

and seeing that this is based after ubuntu is it safe to assume to has the exact same security? less because it is not as popular and or more likely to contain unseen bugs? or more because it was made liter and may have removed unneeded services?

and does the idea hold truth that ubuntu is considered a relitively easy but not as secure as debian? just some thoughts from someone who is leaving microsoft behind along with vast amount of software it needed to keep logs and security in place.

thanks for anyones time who wants to entertain these thoughts!
