Greetings fellow Linux Lite users.

Been running Linux full time on my personal computer for a couple of years now.  Before that I have "tested the waters" so to say for probably 15 years, while using Windows as my main OS.  Still use Windows at work, and have an XP VM for those occasions where I'm too lazy to convert stuff to a Linux friendly format.

Anyway, thought I would give Linux Lite a go on this old ThinkPad T43p.  So far, so good, except that it boots with NumLock on, and that's a no-no on a ThinkPad.

Hello Neil E,

Welcome to the forum Smile

I use Linux Lite desktop computer and 1 windows desktop computer at home, currently trying to fix the Jan windows update that messed it up for the past 10 days :o .

Two of my friends (they are twins) use a Thinkpad T420s, they like it a lot. They got it recently for trying Linux for the first time, and use Linux Lite on a dvd, I will do a usb with persistence soon. Once their external hdd arrives I will try to back up windows on to it and then they want me to do the Linux Lite install (not dual boot) with them as it will be their first time install of Linux.

Does this help solve the NumLock ? -

It did.  Thanks.  It reminded me that I meant to check BIOS settings before posting on the forum...but forgot.  That was where my issue lay.  Just had to change a setting in the BIOS, and everything was back to the way I wanted.  Hehe :-[
