Those are custom kernels for those with newer hardware. We don't put those in Finals because they drop support for older hardware, which is what we partially target.

Kudos on attacking the broadcom update, I never realized that many old laptops had that wifi card.

We'll see if the Broadcom support helps. I'll definitely need feedback from people on that from the Beta.

Great news thanks Jerry! Of all the features you mentioned in the 3.6 beta, I am most excited about the new wallpapers. The example you showed in the OP was PERFECT! Will this be the default background for live media for 3.6? If so, that is wonderful news!
The only thing I didn't like about the current 3.4 was the default wallpaper (which is an incredibly minor thing, I know). So I'm excited about the upcoming 3.6. IMHO the default background pic on LL 3.4 does not give a great impression at first glance (e.g. on live media when trying it out) yet the OS itself is AWESOME and professional and impressively fast and easy to use. I definitely would not want potential LL users to be put off by something like the wallpaper. So, I'm excited that we will soon have wallpaper that matches the wonderful smooth modern OS you have created. Woohoo! Very excited.

8) ;D
Using Linux Lite for everything now. I put it on my desktop and my laptop. Woohoo!
