LL on CD?
#11

(02-18-2015, 11:10 AM)SpAiK link Wrote: Ok, so I get to boot from an usb in the pcmcia card. It show the options menu and I select the first one live LL, then it shows the loading screen with "Linux Lite 2.2" and the dots and after that it goes to a command line:
Code:
BusyBox v1.21.1 (Ubuntu 1:1.21.0-1ubuntu1) built-in shell
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system
The iso has been burnt to the usb with Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.5.9
I got exactly the same error message when trying to boot the .iso file with Grub2, and then tried SuperGrub2, which also failed (which amazed me!).
Fortunately, MultiSystem booted the iso just fine.
The MultiSystem MultiBoot program builds a custom Grub2 menu for your .iso files. It works for .isos such as Ubuntu, Linux Mint, LMDE, PCLinuxOS, Knoppix, Puppy Linux, Pinguy, Bodhi, Zorin, Gparted Live, Grub Rescue Remix, SystemRescueCD and more.

Installing MultiSystem:
Enter the following commands in a terminal, one at a time.
Code:
sudo apt-add-repository 'deb http://liveusb.info/multisystem/depot all main'
Code:
wget -q -O - http://liveusb.info/multisystem/depot/multisystem.asc | sudo apt-key add -
Code:
sudo apt-get update
Code:
sudo apt-get install multisystem

Then insert your USB flash drive. It must be formatted FAT32, with one labeled partition (the label cannot contain any spaces). If you try to use a drive with no partition, MultiSystem will install one and label it "Multisystem".

MultiSystem appears in the Menu under Accessories.
When the Multisystem program starts it detects the USB drive, and you can drag .iso files to the small window at the bottom of the MultiSystem screen, or use the disk icon to browse for iso files.
MultiSystem automatically generates a Grub menu with a menuentry for each .iso you load into it, so you can boot the USB drive and boot any of them.
Linux Lite 2.2 (64 bit), Quad core AMD A8-3870 with Radeon HD Graphics 6550D, 8GB DDR3, Ralink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI
Microsoft-free environment since 1996
