LL6.0 Locks Up After Opening LibreOffice Writer
#1
I installed LL6.0 on a Lenovo T61 Notebook.  When I open LibreOffice Writer the O/S locks up and I have to reboot to get to the operating system again.  Opening the Spreadsheet locks things up also.  I would appreciate any fix for this problem.
Thanks,
Planorez

Near the bottom end of their minimum specs, but should still work.
Have a look through:

Many of the threads I have read point to more of this kind of issue on older hardware.

Could try starting libreoffice from the terminal with different options.
A couple are probably worth trying to see if the cause crash/freeze under these modes.

Skipping the user profile
Code:
libreoffice --safe-mode

Using generic display mode
Code:
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen /opt/libreoffice7.2/program/soffice

That goes on and on, for at least 4 years, with all new versions. I use it daily so I know this.
I installed version 6.0.3.2 and works fine, for at least three years (might be more...), and I've changed LL versions from 4.0 up to the current (6.0. ).
Give it a try, might solve the trouble.
What is weird with LibreOffice, is that locking Linux Lite, is far from being a "piece-of-cake" kind of job... However, they managed to do it, as it looks to me...
Hope that this version, will work for you, too! Smile

All the best! Smile
