v4.0 very slow start up
#1
Until v3.8 i had no problems with ll. Now with v4 my netbook takes up to 5 min to show the desktop. The good news are that when im inside, the speed is the one i had used to with the 3.8.
Any suggestions?

It seems a lot of people aren't reading the Release Announcement or searching these Forums for similar threads.

Ooh, thanks for the link! I will be trying this too - I noticed a rather long boot-up time for my laptop on 4.0 vs 3.8. I had read that section in the release announcements, but set it aside as I was rather hazy on what Virtual Box was and whether or not I would need it some day. From reading a bit more, it looks like I would not need it (I don't care about trying out other OS's), so I will make those changes soon.

UPDATE: This totally worked! You get SIGNIFICANT time savings on startup by removing Virtual Box. Awesome.
Using Linux Lite for everything now. I put it on my desktop and my laptop. Woohoo!
