Problems installing 4.0 & no wifi
#1
Just attempted to install 4.0 on my HP 2750p (2570p?) laptop. It's been a while since I've done much more than update the laptop as I was still on 3.6. (I began w/2.2.) I couldn't install via USB so I burned the image on a DVD and tried it that way. Never could get the wifi to work (that's a MUST as I have very limited access to hardwiring) and once I rebooted, the laptop reverted back to 3.6.
I'm sure there's something simple I missed for either issue but can't think of what it could be. Any suggestions, please?

Hi,

Can you please command
Code:
dmesg > ~/Documents/dmesg.txt

and send the dmesg.txt (it is in your Documents folder ) file here as an attachment?

"lsusb" is a CLI (command line interface) command to list USB devices on your machine.  Are you using a USB wifi adapter?

While installing LL 4 on a laptop yesterday I lost a good hour of time to being an idiot and forgetting I needed to press the magic function key (in this case F2) to toggle the internal wifi adapter on.  D'Oh!
