Hello hello hello!
#1
Hello wonderful people!
Welcome me!  8)
I'm new here! I'm in introductions am I not?!??

Also I am downloading Linux Lite as I'm typing this and know that I'll be needing some help soon regarding my pesky AMD graphics driver install. I pray to God that I won't have to, but just in-case. Will be giving Lite a try for the next 6-7 months or so and if I like it better than my current os then I might stick with it and upgrade to 3.8 than 4.0 versions with you fanboys and girls.

Current distro:
Lubuntu 17.04

Previously used distros:
Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Arch Linux
Also some experience with (Slitaz, Kali, Backtrack, Elementary OS) but didn't use for long. Licked it. Didn't taste so good.  :o  Tongue

Hi!

I think most of us probably came to Linux Lite from Windows or Mac, but several regulars here have used - or are still using - other Linux distros too.  I was an LXLE and Xubuntu fanboy before playing around with Linux Lite, just for fun and because I'm keeping an ancient desktop computer out of the landfill for as long as I can.  I also wanted something particularly easy for Linux novices, since I share Linux a lot with friends and schoolmates who are trapped in the world of proprietary OSes and software.

In my li'l weblog I call Linux Lite "Xubuntu done right, for newbies and experts alike."

Stick around a while and enjoy the ride!

Hi! Big Grin
I definitely will without a doubt  ;D

UPDATE:
Installation complete and everything is good from the very start!
I didn't have mess around for hours looking for ways to install my graphics drivers. WOOHOO! found it being used without me having to do anything  :o MAGIC!

For those reading this wanting to know how I checked:

Code:
name@ComputerName:~$ lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 vga
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Park [Mobility Radeon HD 5430] [1002:68e1]
Subsystem: Dell Park [Mobility Radeon HD 5430] [1028:0466]
    Kernel driver in use: radeon

if you see "fglrx" instead of "radeon" then you must be using the proprietary AMD Catalyst drivers. Peace!

Hi!  Smile

I came here from Windows 10 and having not really got on with Ubuntu/Unity.

Loving every moment of Lite so far - even when I have the occasional problem, so far I'm able to solve them myself or with some help here.

Marvelous!

I hope your experience continues to be as positive.

Hi Name,
Welcome.  I too did a little distro hopping until I discovered Linux Lite...or as I like to call it "DeLite".
The reasons I stuck with LL 3.6:
#1 Easy installation
#2 Everything worked
#3 Light on my resources (9 year old laptop)
#4 Customizabiilty of Xfce
#5 It's from New Zealand, which is some place I've always thought was cool and hope to visit one day.
