Installing on MacBook Keyboard NumLock on
#1
I'm installing on a MacBook (the erase option, so no OSX to go back to), when I get to detect keyboard, I can only type numbers from the upper part of the keyboard. I need to toggle the NumLock to off.  Can I do this mid installation?
Thanks for reading this

Try:

Code:
numlockx off

in a terminal before installation. You can then turn it off permanently via Lite Tweaks after installation.

Hi Jerry,

I've installed LinuxLite, and I used Lite Tweaks to turn NUMLOCK off.
I couldn't use a terminal session - as I cannot access letter symbols.
And, I still have the problem.
Hitting 7 results in 7
Hitting 8 results in 8
Hitting 9 results in 9
Hitting U results in 4
Hiting I results in 5
Hitting O results in 6
Hitting J results in 1
Hitting K results in 2
Hitting L results in 3

Some symbols around these keys, but the rest of the keyboard doesn't function.

In the KeyBoard menu in Behavior 'Restore num lock on startup is ticked
The Layout is Use system defaults.

I hope this makes some sense to you, and thanks for reading it.

Check out the Keyboard section in the Help Manual. There are some useful tips there.

Hello everyone !

I'm new at using Linux Lite and the main reason is that I would like to give a new birth to my old macbook computer (mid-2009).
After many attemps I finally managed to install the system in dual boot but I'm facing the same problem as described under :

Some symbols around these keys, but the rest of the keyboard doesn't function.

That's the reason why I preferred to continue this topic instead of creating a new one.
Up to now, I've been able to use the computer by using a USB keyboard but it's not satisfying when you have a laptop  :62:.
I've searched in the help for any solution but couldn't find.

Fortunately, I discovered something that maybe could help to solve the problem. When I fold my computer, and then I open it again to log in, if I connect the USB keyboard, I can use my laptop keyboard for typing the session password ! After when I remove the USB keyboard, my laptop keyboard is totally functional.. until I switch off the computer  :019:.

Linux Lite seems to be a wonderful solution to avoid getting rid of my macbook too early but I absolutely need to find a solution to this problem. If somebody can help, that would be really nice  :045: !
