Linux Lite 3.2 Beta Released
#41
Thanks for 3.2 beta, Gerry. I've tried both the 32bit and 64bit versions on an old Dell XPS laptop (Intel Core2, Intel wireless). Noticed two issues affecting both 32bit and 64bit versions:
  1. Trying to connect to wifi from install system, entered the PSK but it then dropped the connection. Needed to edit the wifi setting to insert it. Also, had similar problems on installed system (64bit version at least) but did not seem consistent - sometimes connected to a new SSID, sometimes not without fiddling around. I think it may be a time out issue as I had more problems with a long PSK. Probably something "upstream" from you. (You may recall I had - and still have - the same issue on 3.0 on at least two different computers.)
  2. On both systems selecting Install Drivers did nothing - not even pop up a window.
Otherwise no issues found. I like the fact that you can always see that something is happening while an update is in progress. Previously it seemed to hide while busy (for me, anyway!)

Regards,
Richard.

Saturday morning I finished a refurb on an old Dell Optiplex 320 (tear down and clean, replace a couple blown MOBO caps, redo a couple internal issues, add an new/old HDD, and DVD from old parts, re-anchor paste cpu etc. added a couple gig a new/old ram) for the first of the thin clients I intend to run LL on for instructionals. Sunday morning I loaded LL 3.0 from dvd iso. This morning I upgraded to LL 3.2. Not a single hitch other than adjusting resolution. About ten whole minutes for the upgrade. !!!! Impressive. The new widget is gorgeous, the upgrade path flawless. What a great job by all involved with Linux Lite. Much appreciation!!! I uploaded the hardware config on the Dell refurb to the database. Thanks again!
