Hello!
What amazes me is that the super-cheap generic USB Bluetooth adapters install natively in Linux - once the fixes in the tutorial here on the forum are applied. However, for Windows, I need Blue Soleil - which, after much grief, I just caved in and spent $21 to get version 9.2.483.0, so I can use the dongles in both Linux and Windows... 73 DE N4RPS Rob A gun in your hand is worth more than a whole police force on the phone.

Hello!

Full Bluetooth support OOB is a hit-or-miss proposition in Windows 8/8.1, and generic adapters seem to be a miss. The only way they seem to work is with Blue Soleil - which, at $21, cost me 11 times what the adapter did, but I need to use one adapter in both OSes. I seem to be using it myself quite a bit lately... 73 DE N4RPS Rob A gun in your hand is worth more than a whole police force on the phone. |
