Thanks for your response. After I clicked Install Updates, the dialogue box takes just under 2 minutes to appear. I'm not sure if you wanted specific pieces of info so I just copied everything shown. My system is also taking a very long time to boot - some 5 minutes. I don't think it should be that slow with my processor and RAM. Do you think it could be related to my update issue?
