Linux Lite 5.8 Final Released
#11
I waited with extreme patience for February 1st and am immensely pleased with the upgrade to 5.8.  Did all the standard updates first, which totaled 27 units.  The using the Control Panel, did the upgrade.  Although I'm running a basic DSL line, I don't think the upgrade took more than 15 minutes.  Reboot and success.  Thank you so very much.  I thoroughly enjoy Linux Lite.

First of all : Thanks a lot for the update and for all your work.

I performed the upgrade from 5.6 to 5.8 using "Settings / Lite Upgrade".
All was upgraded successfuly and, after the reboot, I was running Lite 5.8.

There are 2 minor glitches, however : "neofetch" and "mintstick" were not installed.
I installed "neofetch" manually with "apt install". 1st issue solved...
But, when I try "sudo apt install mintstick", the system is unable to locate the package...

In "/var/log/lite-upgrade.log", there is an error as well:
"E: Unable to locate package mintstick"

Have I missed anything when running the upgrade ?

Haven't had a bug in Lite Upgrade for a while. I have fixed this, cheers!
Run updates first, then try installing mintstick now.

I'll release a patch the new way lsb works this week. By the end of the week -a will show the correct information.
Some may be getting the Ubuntu logo in Neofetch too. That will also be addressed.

Not a very serious bug anyway... I've tried your fix and it worked  :54:
"apt update" + "apt install mintstick" and it installed without any problem.
Thanks again !

Patch released, please run Install Updates.

- Linux Lite version reports correctly now in all applications.

Neatly done as usual. For any of you who have modified your lite widget, rather than running a conky rc file, the new conky code update will overwrite your changes. Not a big deal just keep a copy before upgrading and copy and paste relevant bits afterwards.

Sweetly done, [member=2]Jerry[/member] and team! Upgrading was flawless as usual. It even boots a little faster than before. Thanks you!
