Installing Chromium browser
#1
Another one that's bound to be my ignorance:
Sorry in advance, this is another stupid one:

I want to install Chromium - I don't like Chrome (or Firefox) and I currently have Chromium installed on my U16.04 machine and a couple of others and I'd really like to stick with it.

I read a post here:  https://www.freecinema2022.gq/forums/insta...do-i-tick/

This clearly says I should be installing from Lite Software and one of the posts refers to a Search box but on my Lite Software I can't see one...so don't get as far as having the option to click.

Where should I be looking?

The 'which boxes do I tick' thread was true for older versions of Linux Lite.  As I understand it, as of version 5 the Chromium browser is not included as Lite Software because Chromium is now deployed using SNAP package manager so you won't find it under Lite Software.  See the release notes for LL v5.

Chromium isn't available in Ubuntu, at least not in the repos but as a snap pkg. You can install it by following instructions from here http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2020...ntu-20-04/

Hope this helps! Smile
