This is Patomas, I've been registered a little bit but I had been gone for months. As others, COVID-19 had me locked down at home so I decided to roll up my sleeve and take it upon myself installing Linux Lite. I did extensive research before deciding to choose this distro. What I found is that it's the right combination of lightweight and functionality that I needed along with compatibility and user friendliness (if that is a word). My first attempt burst into flames and I couldn't really make it work. I was up against a very locked down corporate Windows box. In the end I was able to install Fedora alongside Windows 10 but that's not what I wanted. I decided to give new life to my 10-year old Sony Vaio laptop. It has Windows 7 and no UEFI (that was part of the problem the first time around). I went through the installation and to my surprise it worked the first time around! What I have to say about Linux Lite is that makes my old laptop perform as fast as my newer (4-year old) corporate Lenovo, sometimes faster (McAfee can slow down the faster computers). So far I a happy as a clam and working away. There are things that are going to be a challenge (Citrix anyone) but others work right out of the box. That's all, I hope everyone is safe and thank you for the forum.
