checked again  the folders on desktop  are empty!(properties  =  4 items  of18.8kbs!)
could  they  have  been  moved  elsewhere  and  if so  how  do  I  find  them,
or  will  i  have  to  load driver files  again  from  cd  supplied  with  usb
thanks  again
Later  today  I  went  ahead  and  reloaded  the files  from  disc,  extracted  files/  and  opened    the  folder/  located  install.sh/
opened  terminal  entered    the code  as  above  but still  get/ command  not found!

Will  post  what  was  wrong  here  after  visit  if  i  can,  in  case  it  is  helpful  to  someone  else
  Thanks  for  your  patience  .

[member=2]Jerry[/member]  Been following this. Interesting to me that firmware-realtek is still in Debian backports while I could not find the package in multiverse. Is it named something else now or is realtek support only on git?

If you see Realtek in Github, it is usually hacked drivers to work better than the original.
