how to install not using sudo?
#1
hello sorry for such a simple question, but i have a copy of peazip and am curious how i can install it on a machine that is not online so no simple sudo commands... the file is peazip-5.3.1.LINUX.GTK2.tgz i also have a copy of winrar i want to install both do not have self installation when i try to open the file, if you can happen to know a site that explains how to install or the process in what to do i would be grateful. Smile i figure this is something i need to learn anyway!

thanks,
dakota

Hi Dakota.

For Peazip it was much easier to install using the deb package. Go to the download site here
http://peazip.sourceforge.net/peazip-linux.html and download the GTK2/DEB package.

Now just right click on the file you downloaded peazip_5.3.1.LINUX.GTK2-2_i386.deb and choose "open with GDebi Package installer."

Let me know if this works. I'm not 100% sure what will happen if the computer isn't online (I think GDebi will look for dependencies) but I'm pretty sure it will install.

For WinRAR do you just want the ability to open (unrar) a RAR file or do you actually want to install the Windows version of this software in linux?

The ability to unrar a file is available by default. See "Creating and Extracting Zip files" in the LL user manual here https://www.freecinema2022.gq/manual/softw...ml#archive.
