Dell B1160W Printer filter missing???
#1
Hi.  I need help resolving my printer issue.  As stated in the subject, I don't know where to look for a Dell B1160W printer filter.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

P.S. I'm a novice using the Linux OS.

According to a OpenPrinting entry (https://www.openprinting.org/printer/Dell/Dell-b1160w) your printer should work with the splix filter.

Please follow the directions that say to try running either "sudo apt-get install splix" or "sudo apt-get install printer-driver-splix" to install the filter and then choose printer model "ML-2165" when creating a new printer queue.

To some degree your suggestion helped; however, I did as you asked but I didn't get to see ML2165.  Now I'm getting an "i" icon on the Del 1160W printer icon.  The message from this is printer not connected but the printer icon is lid which I think indicates that the printer is on and yes the printer is on.  Any suggestions are welcomed...thanks in advance for your help.

Well I managed to get the printer connected; however, now I'm getting an internal error.  Message says to use the appropriate printer driver. Any suggestions are appreciated...thanks in advance.
