LL won't boot without USB

We have a budget laptop (Lenovo ideapad 110S with 2GB memory and a 32GB drive) that was bogging down under windows updates, so I decided to install LL on it. Everything went swimmingly: I burned my ISO to a USB drive, enabled Legacy support in my BIOS instead of the UEFI, and booted from the USB. I got Linux Lite up and running from the USB without issue, double clicked my install Linux Lite icon, went through the steps exactly as indicated in the help (I was ok with wiping the entire drive and starting fresh), rebooted the computer... and nothing happened.

I get a boot menu that has 1. Windows Boot Manager, and 2. eMMC Disk: SanDisk iNAND 32GB, and both of those just take me right back the same boot menu if I hit Enter. I booted from the USB again, and it looked perfect again. I re-installed LL the same way, despite it pointing out that I already have it installed, but to no avail.

I'm not super techy, but I've never had problems installing an OS before, and google has not been able to answer my questions... I feel like I must have missed something obvious, but can't for the life of me figure out what.

I just want a simple OS that kids can use with Libre office and a web browser and VLC. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

The solution there was to use the 3.2 EFI build of Linux Lite, but theres a few tips and tricks along the way.

Thanks. That worked with a few quick fixes:
1) I didn't need to download bootia32.efi separately; it's already there now, and
2) I got a new error while installing, that said "  'grub-efi-amd64-signed package' failed to install", but was able to get it to work by installing while turning the internet access off, as discussed here https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=241379

I really appreciate it! I'd been searching for that solution for the last five hours... lol.
