I can't login, asks for "user and password".
#1
Hi, I'm trying to login to test the Linux Lite 3.8 operating system from a USB. I've made a live version using the latest Yumi version. I'd like to test it before installing it on my old Compaq Presario V6000 laptop, with Intel Centrino DUO and 2GB of RAM, but just after selecting the option "Start Linux Lite" it asks for the "username and password" to enter.
I read on the website that it is not needed, but anyway, even without entering anything in the boxes, I can not pass that point. I've also entered "linux" as a username, something I've seen on some website, but it does not work either.
Can you help me please?
Thank you very much,
Andy.

[td]SOLVED  Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile.
It worked using "ubuntu" as user and leaving blank the password.
I also wanted to tell you, just in case it will be usefull for you, that lastest Yumi version makes the live USB right or aparently it works ok. In fact right now I'm testing linux lite by the live USB made by Yumi with no problems (yet).
Many thank for your help it was really helpful.

Couple of thongs are possible. Did you format and create the USB with Windows. If so Windows admin name and password. Is secure boot still enabled? If so disable it in the BIOS.

Thanks for the info, I tried Yumi in the past without success but would be great to have fewer USB keys in my Bag-O-Keys Wink

Cheers!
