Calamares Installer
#1
Hey people of the intertubes!

Search these forums with the magical search field at the top right for this and did not find a hit but... I wuz just wondering if the Calamares Installer had been suggested before has an installer for Linux Lite?

I've been using Windoze for the last 25 years and in the last year or so I tried at least 84.2 distros (some didn't boot Wink ) . The best one for me is of course Linux Lite 8) but had different troubles installing it since 2.2 (and other distros using the same installer sometimes) . I did some research and looks like Calamares is a "Universal" installer. Has it been tried (or implemented before) in Linux Lite?

Cheers to all, but mainly to Jerry since he's a Magical Being that creates miniature rainbows behind him when he walks.

It has been suggested before. I try to use the tools that are specifically designed to work with Ubuntu. This is usually the approach in regards to selecting and using major system software components. Thank you Smile

Thanks for the quick reply.
I tried something that didnt work on M$ OSes without sysprep and blackmagic ... I cloned my install directly to different PCs.
ALL of them worked instantly at reboot, without needing 3 hours of hardware detection and/or driver installs. Say whaaa?

Frankly, I was almost as flaber-gassted(typo?) as my first Linux experience. My brain not able to process that the job was finished in minutes and not hours.
Wih all that free time, I can finally get those bagpipe lessons.
