An Interview With Linux Lite Project Manager Jerry Bezencon

I sincerely hope that this is not the case for LL.  What you have instigated is too good..  One of the problems of getting users to switch to linux is the confusing array of "flavours"  and the uncertainty of not knowing which one to use from a small business standpoint - Time is money, especially when one has to do everything- pressures  of JIT  Hence the tendency is to stick with the OS you already know, even with all of its drawbacks/costs.

The promotion of LL as the go to product for this business  sector has considerable potential., but long term support/development is also an important peace of mind factor.

Anyway, enough  rom me..  Long may LL continue! Smile

Jerry has posted about this here -

Remember also that many distributions are very similar in looks, package management, etc, etc. I have no reservations jumping onboard with a distribution that meets my personal criteria for what I want on my computers. In the event my distro of choice suddenly becomes extinct, I know there are at least 4 or 5 that are so similar I could easily switch and not be burdened. Lite and many distros are now based only on LTS releases so support of some sort will be available for a long enough period of time that I could take my time finding a replacement distro to install.

Like Jerry said, there are no guarantees in life and that includes Windows. I'll take my chances with a solid, fast, customizable, and FREE Linux distro over being dictated to by MS anytime.
