install ll over fedora
#1
hi,
I have a dell inspiron 3000 11.6" touchscreen celeron N2830

I have fedora21 ( korora 21 in fact) installed on it, no dualboot ., still find it a bit clunky, should have just put ll on it first.

I have a live usb of ll., however the F2 on boot brings me to the old windows boot settings, set at legacy; no boot sequence .
so when i boot with usb in drive it just loads fedora., not sure how to enter grub or to edit it to boot from usb.

im thinking their is a terminal command to run live usb, but i am dumb enough not to know any programming, just a bit of copy paste.
so if anyone can help with how to get the usb to load either from terminal or getting into grub and how to set for usb.?
i would appreciate any help available

thanks
stuie

My wild guess is your BIOS setting is funny.  As soon as you turn on the machine (look at the screen), enter the BIOS and make sure it runs USB first.  If still problematic, try reformatting the USB stick and put the LL iso on again.
If still problematic, try burning LL iso unto a disc.

Hi stuie,

Usually on DELLs F12 does the trick.

Hit F12 repeatedly after turning on the computer till you can see: "Preparing one-time boot menu" on the top right of the screen. Then you should get a menu where you can choose your USB device to boot from.

Hope that helps
