[SOLVED]video problem with live session - waynebob - 12-31-2024

Is video driver weak when loading live session? I boot 7.2 on usb and my Dell monitor on a digital cable goes into sleep part way through loading.
It finishes loading as I get the do-de-doo but screen stays asleep even when moving mouse or keyboard.
Plugged in another monitor (Acer) on a analog cable, same video card.
Boot, digital monitor okay, analog asleep, digital goes to sleep part way, analog wakes up, after several minutes analog goes dark (not asleep, still green power light).
Both monitors blank. This is on a spare computer.
Tried my main computer and loads okay but the writing goes small for a bit but boots to a live session otherwise.
New years puzzle. :-) Thanks for any help, Wayne.
Edit: upon more reboots the analog monitor now stays on, digital monitor still asleep.

How long does it take to load a live session (if that is possible to time)?

Two minutes from start button, shows LL 7.2, digital monitor to sleep, analog monitor on,
3:55 to welcome screen and desktop and analog monitor stays on okay.

Tried plug/unplug digital cable, run install on different usb socket, still wont work.
Tried different monitor on same digital cable and it loaded okay. Aha, Dell monitor kaput?
Hooked up original Dell monitor again and now it works fine (3 reboots)
I am embarrassed to say this was a simple hardware problem and I apologize for the false alarm.
The monitor losing the signal part way through fooled me.
I should have exhausted my hardware checking before asking for help.
I will mark this as solved. Happy New Year, Wayne.
