How do I change the password for the Default Keyring for my Wi-Fi connection? - m654321 - 09-29-2014

My password for logging-on with LL2 is the same as the password requested by the default keyring, whenever I try to access the Wi-Fi
connection to the internet.  I don't think this is sensible, as anyone who successfully hacks the router password will presumably be able to access my root files. I am particularly keen to change this password, in view of the malware attack I suffered recently which I reported on 11 posts earlier in this same part of the forum

My question is therefore: how do I change the password for  the default keyring password in LL2?

Many thanks for any help with this.
Regards
Mike

Hello Mike,

Can it be done this way ?
Menu>All>Network Connections>Edit

Have you enabled the firewall  ?
Command Line Interface
Code:
sudo ufw enable
You can read its manual by using
Code:
man ufw

This topic is sadly still there. Because It happens to me. If I added my wifi Connection, it wants a keyring pasword set. This is not acepptable. It's more secure to have it like it was. Meaning like it was... You have to set your wifi password every time you have disconnected from it.

Hello!

Right-click wireless icon > click 'Edit Connections' > select connection to edit > click 'Edit' > click 'General' tab > if not already there, click on 'All users may connect to this network'.

Try that, and if the problem persists, we'll go from there to disabling the keyring...
