a Linux Lite 6.6 downloaded a week ago may have installed different kernel ? - Edimion - 04-11-2024

Hi,

I have a newbie question about the kernel we install regularly when we complete a clean installation of Linux Lite 6.6
I installed Linux Lite yesterday and I have that doubt,

A Linux Lite 6.6 could "give" a different kernel version? or The same Linux Lite could give the same kernel and it doesn't matter how old or new is the hardware or the source where you downloaded Linux Lite?

I have this doubt because I thought I have kernel version 6, but it's 5.15.0-102-genericĀ  Confusedhrug

What makes you think this ?

As of today, an updated LL6.6 should be running kernel 5.15.0-102

Do not confuse Linux Lite version numbers with kernel version numbers.
Read the release notes for information about which kernels are on the Linux Lite ISOs.

Sincerely, I get confused when I made a profile on this forum a difficult question for newbies. That option have 6.x; 5.x; 4.x ,3.x.
Well ,I think the kernel 6 must be the one for a development version..

Yes, I forgot to read that, thanks for your answer
