Dual Boot Installation Fatal Error "Unable to install GRUB in /dev/nvme0n1p8" - Alan_Wilts - 02-16-2022 Hi. I'm using dual boot for the first time. It's linked to trying out options on a new PC. The boot mode is CSM as option 1 is to continue with Win 7. That's on a spinning hard disk, currently disconnected. Option 2 is Win 10 and I've installed that on a 500GB nvme SSD as GPT Option 3 is LL. I've been using that in a VM and on a laptop to build up experience and confidence. When installing LL I added partitions /root, /home and swap on the SSD. I first got an error that "No "Reserved BIOS boot area" so I added a 1MB grub partition. I then got the error: "Unable to install GRUB in /dev/nvme0n1p8" Image 1 is the LL partition set up during installation image 2 is the partition table seen under Win 10 using Macrium Reflect backup utility. I would like some help please on how to proceed. Thanks for reading Alan |
