Enable Auto Login doesn't work - george79 - 02-16-2022 I've been trying to enable auto login for hours and it doesn't seem to work. I perform all steps needed to enable auto login by clicking SYSTEM=>LOGIN SETTINGS=>ENABLE AUTO LOGIN and I get the positive confirmation at the end. After restart I can see the login screen again. I tried to reinstall lightdm packgace but it didn't help. Is there a place - the config file - where I can set this manually? How to check if the ENABLE AUTO LOGIN option is realy on or off? Linux Lite 3.8 Re: Enable Auto Login doesn't work - george79 - 02-16-2022 @stevf it doesn't seem to work on my machine. Is there a way to verify in config files if the option is set to on or off? Maybe a module or sth else stopped loading at startup? Yesterday I put a new line in /etc/modules-load.d/modules.conf to activate the new module "nvidia.conf". This is new module and it only enables AGP 4x on my GeForce 6600GT GPU. From that time auto login stopped working. I deleted the "nvidia.conf" module from /etc/modules-load.d/modules.conf so no module is loaded in this file anymore (the nvidia.conf was the only module to load here) and now auto login works again. Conclusion: activating any module in /etc/modules-load.d/modules.conf interferes witch auto login function. I dont know why. Maybe someone can figure it out? Now I have to chose to have AGP 4x working or Auto Login working. Wysłane z mojego Pixel 4a przy użyciu Tapatalka |
