I only have word spreadsheet, and presentation how do i install data base and all the other bits ? cheers Re: Libre office - Valtam - 11-13-2020 They are already there, just hidden. Right click on Menu, Edit Applications, and just unhide what you want. Be careful. Re: Libre office - acrome77 - 11-13-2020 Thanks for that saw maths and draw but not database Re: Libre office - Valtam - 11-13-2020 Just search for libreoffice-base in Package Manager and install from there. Sent from my mobile phone using Tapatalk Re: Libre office - acrome77 - 11-13-2020 Ok LibreOffice went pear shaped requiring me to remove it from my system. Is there an easy way to install the full version ? with all the apps? This has never happened to me with other version of linux Re: Libre office - Valtam - 11-13-2020 We're not like other distributions. Our target audience doesn't demand that we include database software by default. D-base usage in LibreOffice can be setup in several ways and its best to know the specific intended use to decide on which set of driver options one needs. If you know what you're doing just open synaptic (Package Manager) and type libreoffice in the search bar and select the d-base drivers that apply to your needs. And actually, as far as your other remark, Ubuntu does not install d-base for LibreOffice by default, nor Fedora to my knowledge, and Debian doesn't either. Remember LL is Ubuntu based. I expect that is because d-base driver configurations are user specific. This is a whole package so you get the full suite. There are 2 versions available; 6.4.x and newest 7.0.3. Download whichever you want or even both. If you don't know how to use appimages read here https://www.libreoffice.org/download/appimage/ You could create a dedicated dir for the appimages; right-click inside your desired destination/dir and select create >> new folder and call it whatever you want, i.e My_Appimages place the files there, select one and hit Alt+Enter to open its properties, go to permissions tab and check the box that reads Make executable, click ok/close to close that window. If you'd like to have it available on whisker menu: 1. Right-click on its icon (whisker's, I mean) and select edit applications 2. In MenuLibre select Office 3. Click on the "+" at the left high corner. 4. Select add a new launcher 5. Enter the new launcher details. 6. Once you've finished click on the ⇓ symbol to save. 7. Now click on whisker, start typing libre... and you should see your newly added app, click on it or select it and hit enter to launch it You can of course just not add it to whisker and whenever you want to launch it just go to its location and double-click on it or select it and hit enter and it should start. If for whatever reason you decide you no longer want to use it just delete the .appimage file and that's it. Here some screenshots, they're in spanish so adapt to your language: Hope this helps! Re: Libre office - acrome77 - 11-13-2020 Thanks for the assistance I managed to fix the problem I was right when Linux Lite installed office for some bizarre reason it left out several files specific to base I managed to locate them with package manager and install them.I now have full functionality with LibreOffice. |
