Removed extra kernels and now photo viewing progra are not operating correctly. - Rapidrob - 04-13-2020 I may have done a dumb thing. I backed my master hard drive and got a pop-up window saying that there were two kernels of data taking up a large amount of hard drive space,and I should remove them. I did. Now when I try to open up my photo's the computer hangs for a very long time before it will allows me to view a photo or select the next one in line. Is there a way to do a 'system restore" in linux lite? I don't think removing the kernels would have caused the issue ---- IF and depending on how you removed them.. If you used Light tweaks to remove them the in use kernel is not an option to be removed, you can only remove old ones. If you removed by other means you could have inadvertently removed a set of kernel files.. Maybe could try Lite Tweaks and use it to install a kernel - perhaps the next newest version?? You can do in terminal..
