VLC Media Player won't play dvd's? - colin - 04-02-2019
It was really easy and fast installing Linux Lite 4.4 and everything as you would expect works except i can't get the VLC Media Player to play my DVD's? Can't think what to do now except ask for help from forum members.

Made me look.
I just put in a dvd and it self-loaded to VLC.
(Otherwise I would have right clicked the disc and opened it with VLC.)
VLC screen shows up with nothing in the queue. That's normal.
Clicked Media, Open Disc, Play.
Starts playing.
Are you following the same procedure?

Hello amigo
Yes i followed exactly the same procedure as yourself but without any of the dvd's playing. I have all the seasons from 1 to 7 of The Game of Thrones and not one of them would play. That is until i cleaned them before being inserted into the CD/DVD drive. Have never come across this problem before and before anyone says it no i don't live down a dusty old coal mine lol.
