Icons Jump Left.. [99% solved] [Not solved after time, and solved again??] - rijnsma - 07-12-2014 I'm using LL2 day2day now and I'm very happy with it. 8) But tiny question: why do after boot some icons on the desktop jump to left upper? Or: can I do something to prevend it? Re: Icons Jump Left.. [99% solved] [Not solved after time, and solved again??] - gold_finger - 07-12-2014 That's a good question. Have noticed the same behavior myself but haven't figured out how to stop that from happening. Re: Icons Jump Left.. [99% solved] [Not solved after time, and solved again??] - rijnsma - 07-12-2014 I know it from another distribution (Wattos some years ago) and after updating it disappeared. But I did not find out what it was. ??? Re: Icons Jump Left.. [99% solved] [Not solved after time, and solved again??] - Scott(0) - 07-12-2014 Does it make any difference whether the save session for future logins setting is on or off? Re: Icons Jump Left.. [99% solved] [Not solved after time, and solved again??] - rijnsma - 07-12-2014 No, it does not help Scott(0). I think it is not impossible that it has to do something with an error at boottime, which the system asks to report. (Lightdm maybe?) When I report it the system also comes with: Quote:"It seems you have modified the contents of "/etc/lightdm/lightdm-webkit-greeter.conf".I did not change any thing. And so I did report it many times. Oow, wait for an update I thought, but it stays. For the moment I've switched reporting the bug off. Re: Icons Jump Left.. [99% solved] [Not solved after time, and solved again??] - rijnsma - 07-15-2014 So, there is a bug in Lightdm as far as I can see? Wait for the update... Re: Icons Jump Left.. [99% solved] [Not solved after time, and solved again??] - rijnsma - 07-25-2014 I wrote: Quote:Wait for the update...Maybe it was there.. I don't see the problem any more at the moment. Let's hope it is persistently gone. LL is still doing great! No, I have seen the phenomena again. One icon in the upper corner left. I have to wait again. Re: Icons Jump Left.. Programs return in their respective desktops, but some crash then. In the meantime the icons stay 'not locked'. When I put 'save' off it still remembers those programs at next boot and they auto-return, which is certainly not what I want. No problem: I could correct it. But it is not the solution. Re: Icons Jump Left.. [99% solved] [Not solved after time, and solved again??] - rijnsma - 07-29-2014 The same this time, I have not seen the jumping any more after an update with Office. Re: Icons Jump Left.. [99% solved] [Not solved after time, and solved again??] - rijnsma - 08-01-2014 It happened again. It occures after I shot down the pc with by accident still one or more programs on one or more desktops. This time (after reboot) I also saw very old things like an old positioning of icons and even old, deleted tabs in Firefox from days ago..! I have noticed earlier, that it looks like there is no kill-off program after shut down of the pc like there was in Xubuntu 12.04. There IS still something 'special' in the 'shut down and (re)boot cycle'. And then some icons on the desktop jump upper left. Sorry, only brainstorming.. |
