Setting SeaBIOS as default on chromebook - JanetBiggar - 05-28-2018
I’m hoping someone can guide me here or in the least has an opinion based on more experience than me!
Per my post about the HP chromebook battery draining and reverting to the original OS (which had been wiped when I loaded LL) I am now back up and running LL on this chromebook as previously.
I am now going to attempt to set SeaBIOS as default so as to avoid this same issue in future. I have two references that I will use as guides, however my question is do I need to “re-enable the hardware write protection” (replace the screw)? Essentially are there any concerning consequences of doing this or not doing this?

In this second article where the fellow has logged exactly what he did to his chromebook it doesn’t appear that he replaced the screw (see section “Enabling SeaBIOS”):

So, do I re-enable or not..?
