I'm back! - colin - 04-05-2018

I was running Linux Lite 3.6 but had to have an extended stay in bed to give these old bones a chance to recuporate lol. Well now i'm back and running Linux Lite 3.8 which in my old humble opinion is better than ever.  Smile

Would just like to say a big thank you to both newtusmaximus and TMG1961 for their kind replies.

Welcome back colin Smile
Mushrooms are nutritionally a good food for bones.

Re: I'm back! - colin - 04-06-2018

Hiya bitsnpcs
Thanks for the suggestion regarding mushrooms lol.
I usually have a portion of mushrooms delivered with my chinese take away each weekend.
But, sadly, there's nothing, not even mushrooms that can do anything for my bones, lol.

By the way i've started to learn Python. Wonder how far i'll get lol.

Hello colin Smile

Will the doctor give you CBD?

Where are you learning Python 8) from books, online, other way ?

Re: I'm back! - colin - 04-08-2018

Hello bitsnpcs
My condition is the direct result of having spent a lifetime working underground.
My doctor has never mentioned CBD (cannabinoids)? to me. My problems all relate
to the spine. That's as far as i want to go.

Have always enjoyed making my own web pages after having learnt HTML and CSS.
I then went onto HTML5 and CSS3 but i'm still light years away from being an expert lol

I have dabbled with JavaScript and PHP but lost interest in the end to be honest.
So only the other day i logged into the forum and went straight to the Coding section
under development and saw your post: Beginning with Python. I scrolled down and then
Saved the links put up by anj and Hans.

I am a little put off as it were to start paying £10, or £20 on books just yet.

Like i said in my previous post let's see how far i go!

Re: I'm back! - justme2 - 04-08-2018

Colin, no need to buy books, lots of online resources, some interactive like this one: http://www.learnpython.org/
Google 'learn python' (I guess you've already done that anyway) brings up lots of choices at no cost.
I suggest you ignore OOP programming initially, but that is just my opinion.

Re: I'm back! - colin - 04-08-2018

Hi justme2
I am running Linux Lite 3.8 and when i opened a terminal and typed Python (all lower case)
I was informed that Python 2.7.12 was available by default. Could you or someone else tell
me how i might get Python 3?

Thanks for the suggestions and advice. It really is appreciated.
