All the features he's pointed out for Linux Lite is exactly the reason why everyone loves it. Simple as that. 2018 should be as good for Lite. I absolutely agree with his choice of Antergos Linux. I cannot see why so many people talk about Manjaro when Antergos is around. I never thought I'd use an Arch until I tried it. Installing it with the cinchi installer is great! Choose what you want installed, not to install, & then a rolling release. Ubuntu Mate? Sure. But I think he may change his mind when Mint 18.03 final is released. Lots of upgrades done to that distro, and a choice of an XFCE desktop. I would sure like to add to his list of worst distro's. I've tried a lot & am sure glad we have gparted after I've tried them. Looking forward to the Linux Lite 4.0 Beta. Is it summer yet?

I can't comment on Antergos as I've never found the time to give it a go but I did install Ubuntu MATE in the past year and did like it. I felt it had taken note of how Linux Lite helped new users and tried to follow that. The MATE desktop is quite nice and the way particular setups are facilitated is, as the video shows, a good and useful feature. But I was often stuck thinking 'what do I do now' when setting something new up, could never get passwords to work on Samba shares and then found the display developed some flakiness. I had experienced something similar (on the same PC, so it might be hardware-related) so I opted out and installed Linux Lite before it got any worse. Everything has gone in fine, as per my previous LL installations and for that sense of solidity and predictability Linux Lite gets my vote all the time. Sure some desktops are flashier or prettier but what does that matter if you have to spend extra time sorting out glitches. I'm ultra-impressed with Linux Lite and may it go from strength to strength.

I agree with your comment. That's Linux Lite all over. When you use other distro's you understand exactly what Jerry & team are trying to do here. The amount of time that has been put into GUI's to help fix things, and make it comfortable to use, makes it a great distro. The first Linux distro I used was Lubuntu. Didn't like it. I'm happy to say that Linux Lite (series 1) was next. I found it really easy to use, worked well, & look at all the innovations since then.I enjoy trying other distro's, but the cat came back.

I've been trying Antergos in a  VM  like for 2 weeks now, been playing with it and looks really good, even for a VM it runs fast and smooth. I'd tried it in the past using the minimal iso just like I did now and remember cnchi installer was quite buggy,  but it's been improved since I had no issues with cnchi stopping working in the middle of the install process like I did back then.

Congratulations on the more than well deserved LL top 3 best distros of 2017! Smile

I agree, however, remember you can use any GUI/DE with almost any distro, for instance you might have Ubuntu, Arch, Debian, OpenSUSE, CentOS, and whatever distro you like and just install say XFCE, so they all "look" pretty much the same, but then you have a package manager, some specific distro tools, community, and many other factors that might make quite a difference from one over the other, and I think that's why people label one or three of being better than the rest.
