Catfish file search tool freezes regularly - is this a bug & how to fix? - m654321 - 10-16-2017
I often use the catfish search tool to find files on a 4TB USB drive. However when I open catfish, it often freezes. I searched the net but couldn't find any report of a known bug, etc.
Anyone else had this problem?
How does one fix it?
It's getting to be an annoying problem (on setup1 in sig.)
Many thanks in advance for any help with this one.

File a report here - https://bugs.launchpad.net/catfish-search with as many details as possible.

Could it be that Catfish is building updating its database of what is on your your external drive. If your USB port is an older one, speeds will be slower.. ??

I have USB3.0 connectivity - search times from the 2.6TB database, located on a 4 TB external Seagate drive are almost instantaneous on setup1 (in sig). Strangely, Catfish didn't freeze at all today - worked normally.

The external Seagate drive is not an SSD.
